Playlist: Peddle Peddle

How one tune relates to the song before and after it is taken into consideration, as well as the overall set. Why? Change a song on the playlist and the scene will change. Just one song can make a playlist feel unsettled. That's what playlist is: a collection of scenes or moods. All for one big picture. When you put songs together you want that sense of cohesion to feel just right (though admittedly, as subjective as playlist making may be). What is finally intended is left right there for all to hear as one set.

This one took a while to mesh.

Oh well, on with the jams . . .

Added Page Tabs

Hey, Super Bowl Sunday.

I added page tabs, granting easy access to particular blog entries of personal note. I can get to them quicker now. Instead of a label-click scavenger hunt, we've got direct links, woohoo!! Plus, clicking on a button makes navigating this place a teensy bit more fun, aye?

It looks a little something like this:

Touchdown.

I keep playing with the button highlights. Hover. Highlight. Hover. Highlight. Hover. Highlight . . .

I'm dizzy.

Playlist: Marwood

Here's another reason for these playlist hops. When listening to a run-through of an album there are times when an awareness is built that what you're hearing is all too much the same. A band is defined by what they create. They'll quicken the tempo or break it down but it all is a variation of the sound that defines them. Sometimes my attention just can't hold on for the album haul. Instead of single songs, all I can hear is one symphonic flush.

So out with a playlist.

Cherry pick those songs out of its intended context and spin 'em to the order that tap dances in my head. No longer lost in the flush of one sound, now each tune takes its own stage, individually highlighted. It's easier to appreciate something when you place it where you want to be.
